Meet Melanie Iglesias, MTV’s red-hot host

As the host of MTV's "Guy Code," "Girl Code" and "Guy Court," Melanie Iglesias has learned countless things about relationships by talking to blabbermouthed, camera-hamming men and women around the country — from whether you should poop in front of your significant other to how to take the best selfie for sexting. Born in Brooklyn ("I've lived in all five boroughs except for one!" she says excitedly), the 27-year-old Iglesias first catapulted into the public eye when she beat out 7,000 other girls to become Maxim magazine's Hometown Hotties winner in 2010.

And thanks to her on-air charm — a mixture of former MTV hosts Jenny McCarthy's on-screen ballsiness and Carmen Electra's playfully sultry interviewing style — Melanie has become one of TV's most in-demand personalities (she also hosts MTV2's "MLB Off the Bat," on which she takes major leaguers into fish-out-of-water scenarios, like smashing cars in a junkyard).

She even takes improv-comedy classes at NYC's famous Upright Citizens Brigade theater, cofounded by Amy Poehler, to hone her skills. "It helps me be on my toes," Iglesias says. "I'm naturally inquisitive — I love meeting people, and I love being goofy."

In honor of the Sex Issue, Melanie got between the sheets for us at the Benjamin Hotel and took our annual sex survey, dishing on the best place to meet men online, what really pleases women in bed and her relationship with her new boyfriend, whose name she won't confirm — though her Instagram is full of photos of her with "Step Up All In" actor Ryan Guzman.

How did you and your boyfriend meet?

I was following some random Twitter accounts, and I came across him and thought he was cute. He was working on a small movie project that he funded himself. So I decided to say hello.

What did you say exactly?

I said, "Awww, hi." And he said, "Hey, what's up?" instantly. The conversation never stopped. We spoke every day for six weeks straight on Skype. Later, I got a job in LA, where he lives, and we hung out the entire weekend. We've been inseparable ever since.

After Skype-ing for weeks, how was that first face-to-face meeting?

It was easy. You want to find out if you're being catfished or not! We started dating in November 2013, but we made it official Jan. 1.

How would you describe yourself as a girlfriend?

I'm a messy girlfriend — hair all over the place.

When you're dating somebody new, how many sex partners would be too many for you to consider dating them?

My friends and I have this rule: You're allowed one person for each year that you've been sexually active, although we are all way below that number, which is good. I just don't want to be at a party where you keep running into people that have been with your guy. It would be like, "How many people? What the hell?" That gets a little old.

Has your taste in guys changed over the years?

I've never dated the same kind of guy twice. I've dated every different kind: an entrepreneur, a guy in advertising, a guy in the music industry, guys who were short, tall, skinny, fat. I always said I'd never date a guy with a six-pack, because I just didn't think he would be comfortable to cuddle with, and then I met my boyfriend and we had no problem cuddling.

One of your past boyfriends cheated on you. What happened?

I don't want to get into too much detail. But I do think it's the best thing that ever happened to me, because now I'm so thankful for the people in my life who would never hurt me.

Which dating Web site/app has the hottest people on it?

I guess Twitter was my dating Web site, because that's how I met my boyfriend! But I'd say Facebook — going through your friends' cute friends.

Have you ever texted or e-mailed nude or sexy photographs of yourself to someone else?

I know sexting is a really popular thing right now. I do think it helps, because it's a reminder that you're gonna see each other soon. But I think it's dangerous because you can screenshot anything.

I have been watching television and looked at the offices across the street and seen people doing the dirty with the [blinds] wide open. I just closed my blinds.

Have you and your significant other given each other a "hall pass," in which you're allowed to sleep with one person outside of the relationship?

I used to joke that mine was Christopher Walken. But seriously, we can't have one because we're both in the industry, and we're probably gonna meet that person!

Does size matter?

Yes and no. What a lot of men don't understand is that for women, what comes before the actual deed is the most important thing. Men think bigger is better, and that's not always the case.

Hundreds head to Staten Island to march against the NYPD

Hundreds of protesters boarded buses bound for Staten Island Saturday morning for a march against the NYPD.

Spearheaded by the Rev. Al Sharpton, marchers got on buses in Harlem and Brooklyn to travel to the site of Eric Garner's death at Bay Street and Victory Boulevard.

The NYPD has "several hundred" officers from different parts of the city on duty to monitor the protesters, source said. Sharpton has insisted the march and rally will be a peaceful event.

Protesters are expected to march past the office of Staten Island District Attorney Daniel Donovan, who has decided to let a grand jury decide whether to criminally charge the officers involved in Garner's death.

Akquan Ar-Raheem, 60, came from New Brunswick, New Jersey to hop on board a "Justice Caravan" at the Harlem headquarters of Sharpton's National Action Network.

"I want to see change," the mechanic said. "People went before us to effect change, but it isn't happening. They are taking us backwards. I had to come, no matter where, or how far. The struggle is still going on. I had to be a part of it."

Edina Stacey, 27, got up at 5 a.m. to get from her Bronx home to a NAN bus by 7 a.m. and says for her, Sharpton's "We Will Not Go Back" march is personal.

"I came here because my own brother was harassed and brutalized by police," the administrative assistant said. "I'm here to make a difference peacefully."

Garner's relatives as well as former Gov. David Paterson are expected to attend the noon demonstration.

David Brown, 28, whose mom is a police officer, said he came out to protest because "my mom's a cop, but that could have been me, coming out of my building getting killed."

The Bronx customer service rep said "you have cops who want to help the community, and you have those who really don't care."

Harlem resident and fellow demonstrator, Michael Gross, 26, agreed, adding, "there are good cops and bad cops … some of them abuse their power."

At least one Brooklyn resident turned out to the "Justice Caravan" boarding spot on Fort Hamilton Parkway to support the NYPD.

"They are paid to keep me and all citizens safe. If I have a problem I'm calling the NYPD — not Al Sharpton. He don't give a s–t about me," said Tracy Blais, 49, who held up a large manila envelope with the words, "Thank You NYPD" in big black letters.

The legal secretary said her nephew is a police officer.

Hamas backs Palestinian bid to join International Criminal Court

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — Hamas has signed a pledge to back any Palestinian bid to join the International Criminal Court, two senior officials in the group said Saturday. Palestinian acceptance of the court's jurisdiction could expose Israel — as well as Hamas — to war crimes investigations.

Hamas' written consent could further increase domestic pressure on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to turn to the court. Such pressure has been mounting since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on July 8, in which more than 2,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza.

A hesitant Abbas has debated for months whether to join the international court, a step that could transform his relations with Israel from tense to openly hostile, strain his ties with the United States and deprive his government of badly needed Western financial support.

Last month, Abbas said he would not make a move without the written consent of all Palestinian factions. He obtained such support from all groups represented in the Palestine Liberation Organization, while Hamas, not a PLO member, said it would study the idea.

With Hamas now pledging its support in writing, Abbas likely will face even stronger pressure at home to turn to the court, though it's still not clear if and when he might do so.

In a new twist, the Iranian-backed Islamic Jihad group, also not a PLO member and one of the factions fighting in Gaza, said Saturday it would not approve going to the international court.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declined comment. Israel opposes involving the court, arguing that Israel and the Palestinians should deal with any issues directly.

Abbas signaled that he hasn't made a decision yet after a meeting in Cairo with Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, saying that "we are about to finalize this issue." The two talked about ways of resuming Israel-Hamas truce talks that collapsed earlier this week.

In the past seven weeks, more than 2,090 Palestinians have been killed, including close to 500 children, and about 100,000 Gazans have been left homeless, according to United Nations figures and Palestinian officials. Israel lost 64 soldiers and four civilians, including a 4-year-old boy killed by a mortar shell Friday.

During the war, Gaza militants have fired more than 3,800 rockets and mortar shells at Israel, while Israel launched about 5,000 airstrikes at Gaza, the military said. Israel has said it has targeted sites linked to militants, including rocket launchers and weapons. U.N. and Palestinian officials say three-fourths of those killed in Gaza have been civilians.

On Saturday, an airstrike on a house in central Gaza killed two women, two children and a man, according to medics at the Red Crescent. Six strikes also hit a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza, causing severe damage and wounding at least five people, Gaza police said.

Hamas' decision to back any bid by Abbas to turn to the international court came after meetings Thursday and Friday in Qatar between Abbas and the top Hamas leader in exile, Khaled Mashaal.

If Abbas were to turn to the court, Hamas could be investigated for indiscriminate rocket fire at Israel since 2000. Israel could come under scrutiny for its actions in the current Gaza war as well as decades of settlement building on war-won lands the Palestinians seek for a state.

Hamas has been branded a terror organization by Israel and the West. Israel has accused Hamas of using Gaza civilians as human shields by firing rockets from residential areas.

After the last major round of Israel-Hamas fighting more than five years ago, a U.N. fact-finding team said both Israel and Hamas violated the rules of war by targeting civilians — Hamas by firing rockets at Israel.

However, Izzat Rishq, a senior Hamas official, said Saturday that Hamas was not concerned about becoming a target of a war crimes investigation and urged Abbas to act "as soon as possible."

"We are under occupation, under daily attack and our fighters are defending their people," he said in a phone interview from Qatar. "These rockets are meant to stop Israeli attacks and it is well known that Israel initiated this war and previous wars."

Moussa Abu Marzouk, a senior Hamas leader who participated in the meetings, wrote on his Facebook page early Saturday that "Hamas has signed the paper" of support Abbas had requested. Abu Marzouk's post was also reported on Hamas news websites.

A senior Palestinian official has said Abbas likely would wait for the findings of a U.N.-appointed commission of inquiry into possible Gaza war crimes — due by March — before turning to the court. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss internal deliberations with reporters.

A former International Criminal Court prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, told The Associated Press earlier this week that he believes drawing the court into the Israeli-Palestinian conflict might be a positive step.

"I think the ICC could contribute to a solution" of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he said.

He noted that the court, established in 2002, would only get involved if it determined that the two sides are not conducting their own credible investigations of alleged war crimes.

Turning to the International Criminal Court became an option for Abbas in 2012, after the U.N. General Assembly recognized "Palestine" in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem, lands captured by Israel in 1967, as a non-member observer state. The upgrade to a state opened the door to requesting the court's jurisdiction in Palestine.

Band teacher suspected of forcing 8 students into bondage sex

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., — A popular former Alabama high school band teacher suspected of forcing at least eight underage female students into bondage-style sex over a three-year period was arrested in Georgia, authorities said Thursday.

Jeffery Lance Gainous, 32, is suspected of gagging and tying up several of his then-students and using other bondage devices on them both in the band room at T. R. Miller High School in Brewton, Alabama, and at his home, police said.

"I know what kids said about him," said Brewton Police Chief Monte McGougin said. "They loved him. They say he was great, but this is terrible."

Gainous, who taught at the school in southern Alabama for six years, was arrested on Wednesday in Thomas, Georgia, where he had recently moved to work at a local high school, McGougin said.

Gainous was returned to Brewton on Thursday evening and faces one count of a school employee engaging in a sexual act with a student, with authorities saying the investigation remains in its early stages.

"Others we feel may come forward," McGougin said. "All of these victims, they all tell similar stories."

Gainous has told police he had sex with one of the females and sent text messages of a sexual nature to others, McGougin said.

The investigation began when one of the band teacher's suspected victims, now 20, came forward to authorities, McGougin said, adding that the females were aged between 15 and 17 when McGougin is suspected of abusing them.

In a since-removed biography on his new school's website, Gainous was described as a popular teacher who grew the band program at Miller from 70 to more than 100 students in a school of 340.

It was not immediately clear whether Gainous had retained an attorney.

Eva Green has Hollywood’s most notorious breasts

When your subtitle is "A Dame To Kill For," you can't just cast any ol' actress. She needs to be so seductive that men would literally murder for her.

You might not kill for Eva Green, but you'd probably steal a car.

The 34-year-old, French-born actress and former model takes center stage in this weekend's "Sin City" sequel, playing a femme fatale.

"Eva just completely won me over with those green eyes of hers," says "Sin City" creator and co-director Frank Miller.

All true, but if we're really being honest, they probably searched for something else, as well: someone who looks good naked.

Green does. Like everything in "Sin City," she's a comic-book character come to life, with proportions that would seem only to exist on the page of a comic book read by horny adolescent boys.

And unlike many of her Hollywood contemporaries — both male and female — Green doesn't seem to have compunctions about stripping her clothes for the camera. She broke through with 2003's NC-17 "The Dreamers," directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, and hasn't put on clothes since.

"She's French," says Jim McBride, founder of Mr. Skin, a Web site dedicated to celebrity nudity. "They'll usually do five or six nude scenes before they're 25 years old."

Green has been naked so often, it's kind of become her thing. Her body even caused a bit of an uproar in May when ratings agency MPAA failed to approve the "A Dame To Kill For" poster showing Green wearing a see-through nightgown with nothing on underneath. The image was later altered to make the gown less sheer.

"It seems like it's all just publicity — a lot of noise for nothing," she told Vanity Fair of the controversy.

Which it may have been. The Weinstein Company, which is releasing "Sin City," has been accused in the past of ginning up controversies. What can't be faked though is what God gave Green.

March's "300: Rise of an Empire" kind of came and went, but the one thing that did create buzz was Green's violent roll in the hay with co-star Sullivan Stapleton. Dresses were ripped. Faces were slapped. Boobs were bared.

Green has said the scene left her with bruises. Not that other love scenes are much more fun to shoot.

"You feel very awkward and very silly and you don't feel sexy at all," Green told the UK's The Telegraph. "You are just acting."

The actress has said she's worried about being known for playing one kind of role, but it's unlikely that a large segment of the audience would object to her getting typecast. It could actually make her more well-known.

"The fact that she's willing to show her breasts is a big deal," Mr. Skin says. "Nudity in a blockbuster movie, it's a rarity."

J.R. Smith, with no hint of sarcasm, aims to ‘be a leader’

J.R. Smith the leader? No, he's serious.

The enigmatic Knicks shooting guard said in an interview with ESPN New York he wants to "be a leader" this year, to show his younger teammates the way to be a professional on the court and off. He did not mention marijuana or Rihanna.

"Just 'show instead of say' and stuff like that," said Smith, who is entering his 11th NBA season. "'Sheed [Rasheed Wallace], J Kidd [Jason Kidd] — those guys led by example and that's what I'm going to try to do."

Whether Smith is up to the task is certainly up for debate. He was suspended five games at the beginning of last season for violating the terms of the NBA's anti-drug program and fined $5,000 by the NBA for "recurring instances of unsportsmanlike conduct" following his repeated stunt of untying opponents' shoelaces at the free throw line.

Smith, who had offseason knee surgery last year that hampered him early in the season, expects a far better season for himself and the Knicks. He's on board with Carmelo Anthony's prediction that the Knicks will reach the playoffs after missing out this past season.

"Absolutely. We should be," Smith said. "We should have been one last year. This year, definitely."

Millions of bean bag chairs recalled after 2 kids suffocate to death

About 2.2 million bean bag chairs are being recalled after two children opened them, crawled inside and suffocated.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says the zippers on the chairs, which are made by Ace Bayou Corp., can open.

A 13-year-old boy from McKinney, Texas, and a 3-year-old girl from Lexington, Kentucky, were found dead inside the chairs after suffocating from the lack of air and inhaling the chair's foam beads.

The chairs were sold at Bon-Ton, Meijer, Pamida, School Specialty, Wayfair and Walmart stores and online at Amazon.com, Meijer.com and Walmart.com. They cost between $30 and $100 and were sold before July 2013.

Ace Bayou is offering customers a free repair kit on its website that will stop the zippers from opening.

Kathy Griffin challenges Nicki Minaj to booty off

While most people are inviting friends to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge, Kathy Griffin has another proposal for Nicki Minaj: a booty challenge.

The 53-year-old comedian wants to go toe-to-toe with the rap diva after watching the eye-popping, rump-shaking music video for Minaj's new hit single, "Anaconda."

"Of course, everyone's talking about that 'Anaconda' video and it's fantastic. It's a lot of boo-tay and I would like to challenge Nicki to a boo-tay-off," Griffin said in an interview this week.

The "Anaconda" video has racked in 35 million views since its Tuesday release and has trended on Twitter throughout the week.

"It's like the ice bucket challenge, but it doesn't even have any charity associated with it at all," Griffin continued. "It's completely gratuitous."

Griffin also has some stiff competition when it comes to the music world apart from Minaj: She released a comedy album last week, and she hopes to mirror her success at the Grammy Awards earlier this year, where she won best comedy album for "Calm Down Gurrl" after five consecutive losses in the category.

"I'm going for another nomination, shamelessly," said Griffin, who is only one of three women to win the honor.

Her likely opponents: "Weird Al" Yankovic, who had a pop culture moment this year with the chart-topping "Mandatory Fun," which featured a stream of highly viewed — and highly praised — music videos. There's also Sarah Silverman, who will release "We Are Miracles" on Sept. 23.

"We know each other's game," she said of Silverman. "Mine is two hours. I have a standing comedy disorder. Once I get onstage I can't stop talking."

A medical intern living at the Helmsley Medical Tower plunged to his death out of an apartment window on the Upper East Side on Friday, police said.

Police believe the 25-year-old victim, who lived alone, jumped off the 20th floor and landed on a third floor vestibule at the building — a New York Presbyterian Hospital facility near East 70th Street and York Avenue.

A worker discovered the man around 9:20 a.m. but it is believed he jumped sometime overnight, an employee of the management agency told The Post.

"It's a resident who jumped. A worker discovered him this morning coming in," the employee said.

A little over 300 residents live in the upper floors at the Helmsley building, which also provide housing for guests whose loved ones require extended medical care.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification, cops said.
