Police commissioner Ray Kelly today called for a grand jury investigation of the cop who blew away an unarmed motorist last week in Queens.
Just before appearing in the Columbus Day parade, Kelly said there are still too many unknown elements to the Thursday shooting of Army National Guardsman Noel Polanco on the Grand Central Parkway near LaGuardia Airport.
"It will require what I believe to be a grand jury investigation to determine precisely what happened there," said New York's top cop.
An elite NYPD detective, Hassan Hamdy, pulled over the speeding Polando as he allegedly weaved in and out traffic.

Hamdy has claimed Polanco didn't show his hands, prompting the shooting.
But a friend of Polanco's, in the front passenger seat, insisted the motorist had his hands on the steering wheel moments before Hamdy, 39, fired the one fatal shot.
There were no weapons were found in Polanco's car -- only a power drill on the front, driver's side floor.
Queens DA Richard Brown has already said his office is investigating the deadly incident.
