WATCH: Tom Hanks drops F-bomb on ‘GMA’

Mr. Nice Guy used the F-word! Tom Hanks wasn't saved by a seven-second delay during his live interview on "Good Morning America" today.

Hanks, who was on the show to promote his new movie "Cloud Atlas," was asked by anchor Elizabeth Vargas to speak like his foul-mouthed character from the upcoming movie. The "Forrest Gump" star initially said he couldn't because the character curses too much, but Vargas suggested that he use his accent from the sci-fi flick.

The Oscar-winner obliged but then got a little too into the impersonation when he uttered the F-word. Quickly realizing the blunder, he covered his mouth and apologized. Vargas also apologized to the viewers.

"I'm so sorry," Hanks explained. "I slipped into a brand of acting. I have never done that before. I want to apologize to the kids in America that are watching this right now. And let me say, next time I'm on the show there will be a seven-second delay!"

The East Coast broadcast is the only version to have the uncensored appearance. Re-broadcasts in other time zones were censored. The uncensored clip is below:
