Hayden Panettiere, Scotty McKnight split

Hayden Panettiere and former NFL player Scotty McKnight have broken up after dating for more than one year.

A source told TMZ that the pair broke up a couple of weeks ago and remain "really good friends."

"They will probably be back together sometime down the road," a source told the gossip site.

McKnight, who was a Jets wide receiver, is the second professional athlete that the "Nashville" actress has dated. She and pro boxer Wladimir Klitschko dated for a year and a half starting in late 2010.

"I've always been that girl who has a lot of dude friends," she told Us Weekly. "I'm into sports, so Scotty and I have a lot in common."

Page Six spotted the pair in October on a Broadway double date with Mark Sanchez and then-girlfriend Eva Longoria. The foursome took in the hit show "Newsies."
