Pedestrian dead after car jumps curb and hits five in Queens

A pedestrian was killed this morning after a vehicle jumped the curb and careened into five people in Long Island City, authorities said.

The driver lost control of the vehicle at around 10:30 a.m. near LaGuardia Community College near Thomson Avenue and 30th Street, the FDNY said.

All five victims were taken to Elmhurst Hospital. The other four suffered minor injuries, according to fire officials.
