Four months after his arrest for allegedly beating and choking his wife in a Manhattan hotel, former Major League Soccer big Hal Douglas Quinn has still not been indicted, prosecutors said during a brief court appearance this morning.

Quinn remains free on $20,000 bail while prosecutors continue to investigate; officials did not say if the wife, Elizabeth Quinn, 46, is still cooperating.

"We're very confident with the facts and we're very comfortable with what we knew happened," defense lawyer Alan Futerfas told reporters after court.

"We're still cooperating very closely" with investigators, the lawyer said. "But a fair amount of time has gone by. We'd like to reach a resolution."

Quinn resigned in mid-February from his job as CEO of FC Dallas, and is working as a sports consultant, his lawyer said. He is accused of strangling his wife to the point of unconsciousness after his 50th birthday bash at the Alex Hotel on East 45th St.

The wife suffered injuries to her face, arm, legs and eye, which was swollen shut after the confrontation, according to the criminal complaint against Quinn.

He declined comment as he left Manhattan Criminal Court, where he is due back on June 19th.
