An NFL player made a deal with prosecutors this morning, ending his defensive fight with an illegal gun charge.
Da'Quan "Dennis" Bowers pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct for bringing an illegal gun to LaGuardia Airport on February 18.
"In the interest of justice this is the appropriate disposition," said prosecutor Francesco Catarisano.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end answered "yes" to all the questions Queens Criminal Court Judge Dorothy Chin-Brandt asked during the hearing.
Bowers, 23, admitted to Judge Chin-Brandt that he packed the .40 caliber Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol in a pair of jeans and wrapped an eight-round magazine in another pair.

"I have a gun, I don't have a permit, I was in Manhattan since Friday," Bowers said to the US Airways ticket agent at the check-in counter, according to court documents.
"He purchased the gun in Florida," said Bowers' attorney Dennis Coppin.
Bowers' court record was immediately sealed after he paid $370 in fines. The $10,000 bail Bowers posted was also returned.
