A two-alarm blaze that ripped through a Staten Island convent injuring at least five people this morning has been deemed suspicious, authorities said.
The fire started just after 5:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Hill Academy's convent on the first floor, according to authorities.
A nun who was trapped on the second floor jumped out a window and was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital with a fractured back, according to authorities.
Four firefighters were listed in stable condition at Staten Island University Hospital.
The fire was placed under control at 6:34 a.m.
