The Nets, facing first-round playoff elimination Friday night against the Raptors, echoed Paul Pierce's guarantee of a victory, saying they would "definitely" and "absolutely" return to Toronto for a Game 7.
"Absolutely,'' said point guard Shaun Livingston after the Nets' pre-Game 6 shootaround in East Rutherford. "I'm with my teammates. So if that's what Paul said, we're all riding with it.''
After going down 3-2 in the series following a 115-113 loss Wednesday at the Air Canada Centre, Pierce was asked if the Nets could win consecutive games to advance.
"Without a doubt,'' Pierce replied. "One game at a time, we got to take care of home. I think we will play better on Friday at home and we'll see them back here Sunday.''
Others were guaranteeing the same thing Friday morning.
"Yeah. I mean, our confidence is going in tonight and winning. We're definitely going back to Toronto,'' center Andray Blatche said.
There is good reason for their confidence: The Nets' 28-13 record at Barclays Center was the eighth-best home mark in the NBA.
"I don't feel like there's too much pressure,'' Blatche said. "We're at home, we know what we have to do: Come out swinging out of the gate, don't give them no confidence and be super aggressive on offense and defense.''
