Boston’s famous baseball couple gets engaged

Will Middlebrooks finally has something to celebrate this season.

The Red Sox third baseman, who hit .197 in 21 games this season before being sidelined by a finger injury, got engaged to former NESN reporter Jenny Dell Monday night, surprising her with a party attended by family and friends.

Dell currently works as a sideline reporter for the NFL on CBS, but spent the previous two seasons with the Red Sox.

The couple went public with their relationship by posting a picture together on New Year's Eve. It is believed Dell was not asked to return to NESN because of a conflict of interest due to her relationship with Middlebrooks.
