Shabazz Napier claims ignorance on LeBron un-follow

He says it wasn't him.

Miami Heat rookie Shabazz Napier unfollowed LeBron James on Twitter after James decided to sign with his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers last week, but Napier claims he was not at the commands of his Twitter account.

"The whole thing about that is I don't know how to work Twitter yet and I'm not on my Twitter, so I don't know where that came from," the Heat rookie point guard said Tuesday, according to ESPN.

Napier, who averaged 18 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game during his senior season at UConn and led the Huskies to two national titles, caught James' eye during the national championship game in April.

When Miami traded the No. 26 pick and two second-round picks to the Hornets to move up two spots and select Napier in June's draft, it seemed a transparent move to appease James, who had opted out of his contract the day before. Napier had joined Twitter the day before the draft, and followed James soon after.

However, after James decided to go home to Cleveland, Napier unfollowed James and deleted all tweets that were sent to him.

But Napier, who is struggling in the Summer League, says that he has bigger issues to focus on.

"I don't pay attention to it," he said. "It gets brought to me by family members, but I don't pay attention to it. I just think it's how it is. Media wants something to bite on."
