A $3,425 deal on a vintage Birkin handbag was too good to be true.
And now a prominent Manhattan doctor, who claims she was duped into purchasing the phony purse from a Hamptons consignment shop, is suing over the alleged luxe rip-off.
"This woman is a crook!" gynecologist Tara Allmen fumed to The Post.

Allmen, a frequent guest on television shows like Dr. Oz, thought she had scored a deal on a rare, orange Hermes Jean Paul Gaultier Birkin when she purchased the purse that sells for around $20,000 new.
The status bags are favorite accessories of stars like Nicky Hilton, Katie Holmes and Oprah and were even the subject of an episode of "Sex and the City" where Samantha drops client Lucy Liu's name to jump ahead of a five-year waiting list for a Birkin.
The clerk at the Southampton store Tisha Collette assured the Columbia University doc that the bag was authentic, pointing to a Hermes "Made in Paris" stamp and palladium hardware on the buckle, according to court papers.
But five years after Allmen bought the bag she took it to Hermes on Madison Avenue in June 2013 for a cleaning, where she learned it was a fake.
The "palladium" was tarnished, there was no artisan's ID stamp and "Hermes" was not engraved into the zipper, the Manhattan civil suit says.
"Further the Hermes agent informed Allmen that a Hermes bag only uses the finest leather which will not bulge nor loose its upright silhouette when it sits."
The doctor's bag "collapses when it sits evidencing that it was not made with authentic Hermes leather," the suit says.
The counterfeit is worth no more than $75, Allmen huffs in court papers, adding that a former Tisha Collette saleswoman told her that the store regularly swindles wealthy women.
Her attorney, Joseph D. Vitulli, says he will present a sworn statement to the court from the saleswoman claiming that Collette scours Chinatown for fakes, wraps them up and then sells them as originals.
Allmen wants her money back plus $50,000 in punitive damages.
Collette, who also has stores in Manhattan and Sag Harbor did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
