An Australian passenger on a Malaysia Airlines flight who expressed her fears of flying with the disaster-stricken airline has accused a flight attendant of sexually assaulting her while trying to comfort her in her seat.
After departing from Kuala Lumpur on Aug. 4, the woman said she informed the flight crew she was petrified to be flying with Malaysia Airlines, the Daily Mail reports.
That's when the chief steward of the Paris-bound Flight MH20 allegedly sat down next to the frightened woman and took advantage of her while trying to put her at ease as the plane made its way to France.
French police detained the flight attendant once the plane landed at Charles de Gaulle airport, and questioned the man about the "inappropriate sexual behavior," according to an airline statement Thursday.
"Malaysia Airlines expects and accepts nothing short of the highest standards of conduct from its crew and takes any such allegations very seriously," the airline said.
They also announced that they would aid the French police throughout the entire investigation, according to the Daily Mail.
"The safety, comfort and well-being of our passengers is always our highest priority," the airline added.
The allegations couldn't come at a worse time, as the airline struggles to recover from the tragic attack on Flight MH17, as well as the mysterious disappearance of Flight MH370.
