The Mountain from ‘Thrones’ wins Strongest Man contest

The Mountain is not just the strongest man in Westeros — he's the strongest man in Europe.

It turns out that Hafthór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays the indomitable warrior Ser Gregor Clegane, aka "The Mountain That Rides," on "Game of Thrones," is as awe-inspiring in real life as he is on the HBO series.

He won Europe's Strongest Man contest last week.

Björnsson, the 6-foot-9, 419-pound tower of power dubbed "The Icelandic Hulk," won the muscleman competition in Leeds, England, based on his prowess in three events: the "Thor's Hammer" event, also called the forward hold; the 100-kilogram (220-pound) dumbbell press (he lifted it overhead with one arm, the left, seven times); and the "atlas stones" demonstration that involves placing gigantic weights on top of barrels (he was the first ever to do this six times).

Björnsson concluded with a very George R.R. Martin moment: "I am the future of strength! The king of the stones!" he screamed into a microphone, as befitting a guy who plays Tywin Lannister's mad dog.

Ladies, FYI: The strongman told The Post a few weeks ago that although he has a 5-year-old daughter he calls "a beautiful princess," he is single at the moment.
