When the mad proliferation of customized uniforms in college football meets the tragedy that is the NFL headlines this month, you get … this.

Oklahoma will wear an alternate line of gear for Saturday's game at West Virginia called "Bring the Wood." The ensemble of cream jerseys with red pants and red helmet features a wood-grain in the helmet and other areas.

The terrible irony: The Sooners' most famous recent alum, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, is facing child abuse charges in Texas for repeatedly striking his 4-year-old son with a "switch" — or wooden tree branch.
