A man and woman were shot in Brooklyn just hours before the start of the West Indian Day Parade Monday, leaving one dead and the other in serious condition, authorities said.

The 55-year-old man and a woman were shot around 3:30 a.m. at 270 Empire Boulevard in Flatbush, a few blocks away from the parade route.

Both victims were rushed to Kings County Hospital, where the man died, cops said. The woman was listed in serious condition and is expected to survive, cops said.

A suspect was taken into custody, charges are still pending.

The fatal shooting capped off a weekend of violence that saw 10 people shot, including a police officer, who was grazed by a bullet in Bedford-Stuyvesant early Sunday.
