LeBron James spent New Year's Eve denying he would break Cleveland's heart again, after giving his hometown fans a panic attack for Christmas.

James was caught on camera talking to former Heat teammate Dwyane Wade following the Cavaliers' Christmas Day loss in Miami. In it, James appears to tell his friend that "if things aren't better this year, we're gonna reunite again and do some bigger and better things, all right?"

On Wednesday, as the video began making the rounds on the Internet, James called the hubbub "outlandish" and insisted he's not planning any more moves.

"I've seen that video too," James said before sitting out a second straight loss with a sore knee. "I don't know exactly what I said, but I know it had nothing to do about basketball. I wouldn't say that on Christmas, in front of cameras. That (conversation) had nothing to do with me leaving here.

"I didn't go to college, but I'm not stupid. If I would have said something, I would have said it the (previous) night to D-Wade. I'm here now and I'm here to build something in the future."

However, the first season of James' return home has not been as triumphant as many had hoped, and a report came out of Ohio this week indicating James "won't hesitate" to bolt the Cavaliers a second time if the team does not show improvement soon.

The Cavs have lost four of their past fives games to drop to 18-14, the players reportedly are tuning out rookie coach David Blatt, and starting center Anderson Varejao is out for the season with a torn Achilles. In addition, James is battling a sore knee and power forward Kevin Love was forced to leave Tuesday's game with back spasms.

Meanwhile, the Heat are 14-19, in contention for one of the last playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.

So is there a LeBron-Wade reunion in the works? LeBron posted a photo of the two embracing from the Christmas game and also retweeted another telling comment.

Blatt, however, is doing his best to calm Cavs fans.

"I know why LeBron James came back to Cleveland and I know what his commitment is to this team and to his teammates," Blatt said. "And I also know exactly what he wants to do here."
