Radio talk-show host Michael Savage just re-upped his contract with Cumulus' syndicator Westwood One.
Under the new deal, Savage also will look to grow his audience with a new "unprotected talk" format that will go beyond strictly politics.
Savage, who hosts "Savage Nation" on New York's 77 WABC at 3 p.m., will cover more topics including health, science, religion and culture.
"I'm not shying away from politics and I'm not running for office like others in the media," Savage said, adding that he wants to "edutain the world."
Savage replaced Fox News host Sean Hannity, who, along with Rush Limbaugh, jumped this year to rival WOR 710. IHeartMedia, formerly known as Clear Channel Communications, owns WOR.
By traditional ratings, Savage was the fifth most popular talk radio host in December, according to Talkers magazine. Limbaugh tops the list, followed by Hannity, Dave Ramsey and Glenn Beck-Mark Levin.
However, Savage was the most streamed radio host in the fourth quarter, according to data from website Talk Stream Live.
