There was no doubt that "How to Get Away With Murder" would be renewed for a second season, but ABC made it official during Thursday's night's season finale.
In a promo that aired at the end of the episode, the Viola Davis drama teased that it would return with a new season this fall.
The "Murder" renewal had been all but assured given that it premiered to 14.3 million viewers last September and has averaged nearly 9 million viewers a week this season.
ABC typically hands out renewals in mid-May ahead of its upfront presentation to advertisers. Both "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" are also expected to be given another season, keeping Shonda Rhimes' three Thursday-night dramas on the network.
