America may run on Dunkin' – but this alleged bank robber should have bypassed the coffee shop.
A Queens man knocked-off a Lodi, N.J. bank with a BB gun Monday and got $4,000 but was caught by cops when made a put stop at a Dunkin Donuts just a block away.
Michael Cassano, 38, approached a teller at a Hudson City Savings Bank, plunked a BB gun on the counter and demanded cash, NorthJersey.com reported.
Apparently in no rush to flee with the $4,000 proceeds, the thief took a coffee break about a block away from the scene, police said.
Maywood police Sgt. Timothy Moran spotted Cassano near the entrance of a Dunkin' Donuts about 20 minutes after the heist, matching the description of the suspect, Maywood Police Chief David Pegg said.
Cops recovered the "proceeds of the robbery" and a BB gun, Pegg said.
Cassano was charged with robbery and two weapons offenses. Federal charges were pending.
With bail set at $250,000 and he will to be transferred to the FBI on Tuesday.
He also is suspected and faces charges in a Toms River, N.J., bank robbery, Lodi police Capt. Donald Scorzetti told The Post.
