The Better Call Saul star has been making us laugh for decades, and to celebrate the premiere of his Breaking Bad spin-off, we're looking back on the very best of Bob Odenkirk's career. The actor-writer-director-producer has been making us laugh since the late '80s, but when Walter White was introduced to our favorite crooked lawyer on AMC's hit drug drama, Odenkirk's career was propelled tenfold, giving us the new must-watch series of the spring season. So without further ado, let's visit the best of Bob before tonight's premiere.

1

'How I Met Your Mother' (2012-2014)

The only thing that kept me watching the (too) long-running CBS sitcom was Odenkirk's quirks as Arthur Hobbs. Hobbs was boss to both Marshall (Jason Segel) and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) at different points in the series, famous for his incessant screaming and his dog, Tugboat. It's funny because Bob Odenkirk seems like he would actually have a dog named Tugboat. [Where to stream How I Met Your Mother]

'The Ben Stiller Show' (1992-1993)

Odenkirk's timeless sketch "Manson Lassie" won the series their first and only Emmy. Odenkirk plays notorious cult leader Charles Manson, whose left his following to try and convince a family of farmers that he's the second coming. [Where to stream The Ben Stiller Show]

'Tom Goes to the Mayor' (2004-2006)

What started as a bizarre animated web series on timanderic.com became Odenkirk's personal project back in '04 when he helped produce it as a full-fledged show for Adult Swim. Sketch comedians Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim would go on to make Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!, which featured Odenkirk as a frequent guest star. [Where to stream Tom Goes to the Mayor]

'Melvin Goes to Dinner' (2003)

Though he's the lead in an already hit series about a beloved anti-hero, Odenkirk comes from humble writers room roots and indie beginnings. One of his best directorial endeavors was independent friendship dramedy Melvin Goes to Dinner, based on the play by Michel Blieden. [Where to stream Melvin Goes to Dinner]

'Nebraska' (2013)

Odenkirk reminded us of his sentimental side in Alexander Payne's Oscar-nominated family dramedy. Odenkirk plays Ross Grant, successful news anchor son of senile Woody (Bruce Dern) who's adamant about trekking to Nebraska to claim suspicious sweepstakes money. [Where to stream Nebraska]

'Saturday Night Live' (1987-1995)

Can we please bring Odenkirk back as a host? After getting his feet wet writing for Get a Life, The Dennis Miller Show, The Ben Stiller Show, and Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Odenkirk slowly made a name for himself as a writer and sketch star on SNL. "Bad Idea Jeans" might reign as one of the most memorable commercial parodies he penned.  [Where to stream Saturday Night Live]

'Fargo' (2014)

In the television reboot of the Coen Brothers' classic, Odenkirk played simpleton cop Bill Oswalt, whose main concern was not going after leads and what his wife put in his egg scramble. [Where to stream Fargo]

'Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!' (2007 —)

Though Odenkirk starred as a variety of different characters in Tim and Eric, but perhaps the most warped were his appearances as Reverend Richard Paynus. [Where to stream Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!]

'Mr. Show with Bob and David' (1995-1998)

BFFs Odenkirk and David Cross lit up HBO back in the mid-'90s with their brilliantly weird sketch series, Mr. Show. Though it only lasted a few short seasons, it became a cult fave. Fans of the show should definitely check out Odenkirk's and Cross's account of the venture in their latest book, Hollywood Said No! Orphaned Scripts, Bastard Scenes, and Abandoned Darlings from the Creators of Mr. Show. [Where to stream Mr. Show with Bob and David]

'Breaking Bad' (2009-2013)

We first meet Saul in Season Two, Episode Eight — aptly named "Better Call Saul" — when Walt runs into some, er, legal trouble. From there, Odenkirk became the sure-fire comedic relief from the dark drug epic, and we can't wait to see what Saul's previous life as Jimmy McGill entails before he stumbled into Albuquerque. [Where to stream Breaking Bad]
