As Apple gets ready to unveil its first piece of wearable technology, here are five questions CEO Tim Cook has to answer.
1) Will it fit under your shirt sleeve? While the iPhone disrupted the phone-in-your-pocket custom, there were plenty of other places to carry your smartphone — from a coat pocket to a purse. But folks will be hesitant to buy the Apple Watch if they can't button their shirt sleeve around the pricey time-teller.
2) Will it sell outside of apple stores? Will Macy's and other department stores sell the Watch, especially the more upscale versions that are rumored to be priced at $4,000 — and up? Apple stores are not exactly the type of environment men and women think about when buying a piece of jewelry, which is what anyone should call a $4,000 item that attaches to your wrist.
3) How long will the battery last? Folks don't want to think about yet another item in their daily routine needing to be charged — or worse, running out of power. Battery life must be listed in days, not hours.
4) Will it be waterproof? Is this a Watch, especially the sport version, capable of tracking my health — like my heart rate? Then it better be waterproof so folks can wear it while swimming, in the shower and at the beach.
