Traffic halted on the Brooklyn Bridge early Saturday after a gas pipe ruptured near the Eastern District courthouses in Downtown Brooklyn, authorities said.
Officials say there was a gas leak at Cadman Plaza East at Tillary and Jay streets footing the bridge entrance after a piece of construction equipment ruptured a pipe at 9:20 a.m.
Authorities hauled eastbound traffic while they investigated.
It wasn't immediately clear if the pedestrian walkway was closed or evacuated at the time.
There were no reported injuries.
