The length of the mayor's annual St. Patrick's Day breakfast will be cut in half this year, in another blow to City Hall's strained relationship with Irish leaders, according to a published report.
The annual event for Irish- American community leaders at Gracie Mansion has usually run from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. but will now only run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., sources told IrishCentral.com.
Also, the number of invited guests has been cut in half too, the Irish news Web site reported.
Mayor de Blasio has already butted heads with some Irish-American leaders, over his opposition to the annual St. Patrick's Day parade for not allowing LGBT organizations to march.
Organizers did allow a gay group from NBC – which televises the event – to participate this year.
Still, de Blasio doesn't think that's enough and plans to pass on the March 17 parade later this month just as he did last year.
