Microsoft founder Bill Gates is still the planet's richest man.
Forbes' 29th annual list of the world's most wealthy people included a record 1,826 billionaires, the financial mag reported on Monday.
Gates, who has topped this list 16 times, was joined in the billionaires club by 290 newcomers — 71 from the People's Republic of China, Forbes said.
The top five are Gates (worth $79.2 billion), Mexican mogul Carlos Slim Helu $77.1 billion), Omaha investment guru Warren Buffett ($72.7 billion), Spanish fashion exec Amancio Ortega ($64.5 billion) and Oracle founder Larry Ellison ($54.3 billion).
The list is also getting younger with a record 46 billionaires under the age of 40.
The youngest billionaire is 24-year-old Evan Spiegel, who made his fortune as co-founder of photo-messaging app Snapchat. He's worth $1.5 billion, according to Forbes.
Uber co-founders Travis Kalanick ($5.3 billion), 38, and Garrett Camp ($5.3 billion), 36, and their first employee Ryan Graves ($1.4 billion), 31, are also rolling in the dough.
Elizabeth Holmes, 31, is the youngest self-made woman on the list — worth $4.5 billion thanks to her blood-testing company Theranos.
