Jets will retain running back Bilal Powell

The Jets have reached a deal to re-sign running back Bilal Powell, according to a source.

Powell, 26, a fourth-round pick in 2011 out of Louisville, rushed for 141 yards last season as the team's No. 3 back behind Chris Ivory and Chris Johnson.

He had his most productive season in 2013, when he ran for 697 yards and compiled an additional 272 receiving yards.

There was speculation Powell could be lured into a reunion with Rex Ryan in Buffalo.
