ALBANY — Tax returns for New York Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli show the sole trustee for the $152 billion pension fund for state and municipal workers received almost $9,000 from investments and interest on top of his $146,838 state salary in 2012.
DiNapoli, a former assemblyman from Long Island, reported a $3,438 AT&T dividend on his 2021 tax return, smaller amounts from four other investment holdings, $1,074 in Citibank interest and $2,317 capital gains from selling shares in Verizon Communications and Alcatel Lucent.
His tax return shows he made $5,373 in charitable contributions, including $1,550 to St. Aloysius Church.

A single taxpayer, he paid federal income taxes of $32,909 with a $5,781 refund due, state income taxes of $9,416 and real estate taxes of more than $7,200 on his Great Neck home.
