Dr. Dre's on the real estate beat.
The 44-year-old rapper-turned-hip-hop mogul dropped a whopping $40 million on a new mega-mansion, formerly owned by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, the LA Times reports.
The Brentwood, Calif., home sits on a four-acre lot and was purchased by Brady and Bündchen in 2008 for $11.75 million.
The superstar couple spent the following four years renovating the property, which boasts 18,298 square feet and features five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, seven fireplaces, loggias, waterfalls and gardens. (The home's exquisite interiors were featured in the October 2013 issue of Architectural Digest.)
The French château-inspired estate was originally listed at $50 million. But regardless of the price, Dre (real name: Andre Romelle Young) has plenty of cash to spend. He recently sold Beats Entertainment to Apple for $3.2 billion.
