Barbecuers and beachgoers may face some Fourth of July frustration thanks to wet weather brought on by a cold front — but all that rain will likely go away by Friday evening, making way for sunny skies in New York City come Saturday.
"We're getting two out of three days," AccuWeather senior meteorologist Tom Kines told The Post. "Friday's the worst of the three."
New Yorkers should expect cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall on Friday, with temperatures in the 70s, Kines predicted. There's one cause for celebration: The showers will likely end in time for fireworks.
"The rain should move away during the late afternoon hours," Kines said. "Assuming that's right, the evening hours should be rain free."
But wind – which could climb up to 10 to 20 mph tomorrow – may pose a problem, Kines added.
The weekend will get off to a sunny start with a "gorgeous" Saturday, bringing clear skies, low humidity and temperatures near the 80s.
Swimmers should still beware of rough surf and potentially powerful rip currents caused by Hurricane Arthur, which is traveling up the East Coast, Kines cautioned.
Sunday will be another blissful beach day – with lots of sunshine, low humidity and temperatures in the 80s.
