Is Gwyneth Paltrow joining the cast of â€˜American Horror Storyâ€™?

This could be the scariest plot line of all time.

Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow has her sights set on a new acting role — a guest spot on "American Horror Story."

"She would love to be on this show," "AHS" creator Ryan Murphy told People magazine at the FX series' Season 4 premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday. "We'll see."

The possibility of a Gwynnie "AHS" sighting isn't too farfetched, considering her relationships with the show's co-creators, Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The duo are also the brains behind "Glee," on which Paltrow had a guest role in the second and fifth seasons.

"AHS" has also racked up a reputation for its notable guest stars, which have included Mena Suvari, Chloë Sevigny, Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Stevie Nicks.

"Gwyneth is such a light to the world, I think. Such a beautiful person. She's so special to me and my family, so we had a little dinner to say we love you and thank you," said Murphy, who recently threw the actress a 42nd birthday party.

Paltrow's also been sighted out and about with Falchuk, spurring rumors that the two are an item.

Our prediction? Paltrow lands a short-lived gig as a "freak" — before consciously uncoupling from the sideshow.
