Bruce Arians might have thought he'd seen it all in football — until Sunday.
The Cardinals head coach was irate after losing star linebacker Calais Campbell to a sprained MCL that could cost him two to four weeks.
"That was the dirtiest play I've seen in 37 years," Arians said after his team lost to Denver, 41-20, the Cardinals' first loss of the season.
On the play in question, which occurred early in the third quarter, Broncos tight end Julius Thomas appears to dive right at Campbell's right leg, while left tackle Ryan Clady simultaneously executes a block up high.
Arians called the play a "premeditated high-low," and Thomas was penalized 15 yards on the play, negating a Denver touchdown.
