Investigators have identified a vandal who plastered a clear message for New York City cops— "NYPD KILLS"— because he tagged his initials at the scene, police sources said.
The graffiti, spotted Friday morning, was spray-painted in big white letters on the support beams under the walkway on the south side of the Manhattan Bridge near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway entrance.
"Of course this is just a slap in the face. We have enough going on already," a police source said.
Investigators are hot on the tagger's trail, a police source said.
Fingerprints were also lifted from the scene which may belong to the culprit, the sources said.
A passerby was shocked at the foul-worded art.
"It's because of everything that's going on. It's bad that it happened [referring to the Eric Garner case.] Some police can be bad guys or too aggressive. Not all police kill," Annelien Ornie,26, who lives nearby said.
A tourist passing by said said it's just someone expressing their opinion but agreed it was too harsh.
"It is harsh. It has to do with the Eric Garner decision — I guess. Graffiti, it is a big deal," Joost Costerus,32.
It wasn't immediately clear when the tagger scrawled the anti-cop message.
The DOT worked to remove the graffiti Friday afternoon.
