US motorists continue to get pumped up by falling gas prices.
The average price of gas across the US fell Friday for the 106th straight day, a record, to $2.168 a gallon, the AAA reported.
That price is down nearly 49 cents a gallon from just a month ago — and off an astounding $1.20 a gallon from last year.
Drivers in 40 states can find gas station prices at below $2.00 a gallon, the AA said.
The tumbling gas prices — they have dropped every day since Sept. 25 according to the AAA survey of 120,000 station across the country — are likely to continue for the near future as oil prices Friday morning were down 43 cents, to $43.36 a barrel.
