An Ohio fugitive responded to his own wanted post on Facebook before surrendering to law enforcement on Tuesday, officials said.
The Butler County Sheriff's office plastered pictures of Andrew Dale Marcum, 21, on Facebook Tuesday asking for tips on where to find the accused safe cracker, burglar and domestic batterer.
Marcum didn't seem too panicked at first and wrote under the Sheriff's posting: "I ain't tripping half of them don't even know me."
The Butler County Sheriff's Department responded: "If you could stop by the Sheriff's Office, that'd be great."
Then even the county sheriff himself, Richard K. Jones, got into the social media act and tweeted a photo of a jail cell with the message: "Hey Andrew Marcum we've got your room ready …"
Marcum wound up surrendering later on Tuesday. He appeared to be in tears as his mug shot was snapped.
The department posted Marcum's booking photos later Tuesday with all-cap red letters, CAPTURED.
Deputies couldn't resist one last, snarky online dig: "Andrew Dale Marcum will be off Facebook temporarily, because there is no social media access in the Butler County Jail. He's turned himself in. Thanks to our Facebook and Twitter friends for helping turn up the heat."
