An elderly woman was killed in a Bronx blaze early Sunday, police said.
The fire broke out inside a Grand Concourse apartment building in Belmont around 3:30 a.m., officials said.
Shortly after the fire fighters extinguished the flames they discovered the body of the 78-year-old woman inside the kitchen, cops said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the woman is pending family notification.
