Here are three thoughts on the Nets' 106-96 win over the Trail Blazers in Brooklyn Monday night:
1. Thaddeus Young finished Monday's win with 20 points and five rebounds in 41 minutes, the latest impressive effort he's given the Nets since coming to Brooklyn at the trade deadline for Kevin Garnett.
That move has looked better by the day as Young has fit in seamlessly.
"Yeah, he has picked things up pretty easily," Deron Williams said. "We're still getting better, but he's been a great addition to this team. There's no doubt about that. He's giving us a different dimension scoring the basketball and just energy-wise. He's been great for us."
Young has also been a big reason why Brook Lopez has been so good over the past couple months, forming an excellent partnership by allowing the center free rein to move around the paint and score on a combination of jumpers and floaters.
If the Nets make the postseason, the trade for Young is going to prove to be the main reason why.

2. With Williams playing so well of late, Jarrett Jack's role has been greatly diminished.
After playing at least 20 minutes in every game he played in from Dec. 8 to March 21, Jack has played fewer than 20 minutes six of the past nine. He has played fewer than 15 in three of the past four, including 11 minutes on Monday, finishing with three points on 1-for-3 shooting.
Jack is now a minus-319 on the season, an astronomically bad number that ranks him among the very worst in the NBA. If Williams keeps playing this way, though, there won't be much need for Jack, who likely will spend most of his games watching from the sidelines.
3. Joe Johnson nearly had his league-leading streak of 878 consecutive games with a made field goal snapped when he went into the final few moments having missed all nine shots.
But Johnson finally managed to make a basket when he hit a step-back jumper with 1:55 to go that pushed the Nets' lead to 98-88. He later hit a few free throws to finish with six points on 1-for-10 shooting, to go along with six rebounds and six assists in 35 minutes.
Johnson took over the longest active streak from Tim Duncan, whose run was snapped at 1,310 consecutive games last month when he was held without a field goal against the Bulls.
